Azaan

Azaan

Amazing as it sounds, but fortunately for the Muslims of the world, It is an established fact. Have a look at a map of the world and you will find Indonesia on the eastern side of the earth. The major cities of Indonesia are Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Saibil. As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern side of Saibil, at approximately 5:30 am local time, Fajar Azaan begins. Thousands of Muazzins in Indonesia begin reciting the Azaan.

The process advances towards West Indonesia . One and a half hours after the Azaan has been completed in Saibil, it echoes in Jakarta . Sumatra then follows suit and before this auspicious process of calling Azaan ends in Indonesia , it has already begun in Malaysia .

Burma is next in line, and within an hour of its beginning in Jakarta , it reaches Dacca , the capital city of Bangladesh . After Bangladesh , it has already prevailed in western India , from Calcutta to Srinagar . It then advances towards Bombay and the environment of entire India resounds with this proclamation.

Srinagar and Sialkot (a city in north Pakistan ) have the same timing for Azaan.

The time difference between Sialkot , Quetta , and Karachi is forty minutes, and within this time, Fajar Azaan is heard throughout Pakistan . Before it ends there, it has already begun in Afghanistan and Muscat . The time difference between Muscat and Baghdad is one hour. Azaan resounds during this one hour in the environments of Hijaaz-e-Muqaddas (Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah), Yemen , United Arab Emirates , Kuwait and Iraq . The time difference between Baghdad and Alexandria in Egypt is again one hour.

Azaan continues to resound in Syria , Egypt , Somalia and Sudan during this hour. The time difference between eastern and western Turkey is one and a half hours, and during this time it is echoed with the call to prayer.

Alexandria and Tripoli (capital of Libya ) are located at one hour's difference. The process of calling Azaan thus continues throughout. The whole of Africa .

Therefore, the proclamation of the Tawheed and Risaalat that had begun in Indonesia reaches the Eastern Shore of the Atlantic Ocean after nine and half hours.

Prior to the Azaan reaching the shores of The Atlantic, the process of Zohar Azaan has already started in east Indonesia , and before it reaches Dacca , Asar Azaan has started. This has hardly reached Jakarta one and half hours later, the time of Maghrib becomes due, and no sooner has Maghrib time reached Sumatra , the time for calling Isha Azaan has commenced in Saibil!

When the Muazzins of Indonesia are calling out Fajar Azaan , the African Muazzins are calling the Azaan for Isha. If we were to ponder over this

phenomenon thoughtfully, we would conclude the amazing fact that there is not even a single moment when hundreds of thousands of Muazzins

around the world are not reciting the Azaan on the surface of this earth.

Even as you read this material right now, you can be sure there are at least thousands of people who are hearing and reciting the Azaan!!!

What is the secret of the number 7 and its multiples in the Holy Qur’aan and Sunnah?

What is the secret of the number 7 and its multiples in the Holy Qur’aan and Sunnah?

What is the secret of the number 7 in the Qur’aan and hadeeth?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Undoubtedly the Qur’aan is miraculous, and there are many facets to its miraculous nature, such as linguistic, legislative, and so on. Its challenge to mankind and the jinn to produce something similar to it still stands. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say: If the mankind and the jinn were together to produce the like of this Qur’aan, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another”

[al-Isra’ 17:88].

Ibn al-Qayyim discussed the number 7 in his book Zaad al-Ma’aad fi Huda Khayr al-‘Ibaad (4/90) when he discussed the hadeeth in al-Saheehayn: “The one who eats seven dates of al-‘Aaliyah in the morning will not be harmed that day by poison or witchcraft.”

He said: As for specifying the number seven, it has to do with the creation and sahr’i commands of Allaah. Allaah created seven heavens, seven earths and seven days, and man’s creation is completed in seven stages; Allaah has prescribed that His slaves should walk around the Ka’bah seven times (tawaaf) and go back and forth between Safa and Marwah seven times (saa’i), and stone the jamaraat with seven pebbles each, and the takbeeraat of Eid are seven in the first rak’ah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Instruct your children to pray when they are seven.” When the boy reaches the age of seven he should be given the choice between his parents according to one report, and according to another report, his father has more right to him than his mother; according to a third report his mother has more right to him.

When he was sick, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ordered that water from seven skins be poured on him. Allaah sent the wind against the people of ‘Aad for seven days. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked Allaah to help him by sending upon his people seven (years) like the seven years of Yoosuf – i.e., seven years of famine. Allaah likened the reward of one who gives charity to a grain that produces seven ears, in each of which are one hundred grains. The number of ears of grain seen by the companion of Yoosuf (in the dream) was seven, the number of years for which they were cultivated was seven, and (the reward for charity) is multiplied seven hundred fold or more. Seventy thousand of this ummah will be admitted to Paradise without being brought to account.

Then Ibn al-Qayyim commented: Undoubtedly this number has some special qualities that are not shared by other numbers. … Allaah knows best about His wisdom, laws and decree in singling out this number. End quote.

Based on this, the correct view is to refrain from indulging in discussion of the reason why this number is singled out for mention, except on the basis of clear, sound evidence.

And Allaah knows best

Hadrat Abul-Juhaim Abdullah bin Al-Harith (r.a.) said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,

"If the person who passes in front of a praying person realizes the enormity of the sinfulness of this act, it will have been better for him to wait forty ‘---‘ than to pass in front of him.``

Related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

[The narrator was not sure whether the Prophet (peace be upon him) said forty days, months or years.]

Commentary:

One offering a prayer must strive to place a ‘sutrah’ or mark in front of them. A ‘sutrah’ refers to anything that a praying person sets up in front of them, be it a stick, or even a mere line which one draws on the ground. The distance between the one praying and the ‘sutrah’ should be a little more than the place on the ground where one makes one’s prostration in prayer.

It is categorically prohibited for one to walk between the one who is engaged in offering prayer and his ‘sutra’.

Hadrat Aishah (r.a.), the mother of the believers, reported: ‘The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, "The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Quran will be with the honorable scribes (the Angels) and he who recites the Quran and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward.``

Commentary:

The one who is fluent in the Arabic language and is proficient in reciting the Glorious Quran perfectly will be honored to be amongst the Honorable Scribes of Paradise (the Angels); but one who is not fluent in the Arabic language, finds it difficult to recite the Glorious Quran but still makes a sincere effort to recite it as best as one possibly can…..such a person will be bestowed by a double reward by the Lord Most Gracious: one for the recitation of the Quran itself, and the other for making a sincere effort in-spite of his shortcomings.
